Being the Living Christ is to be the Open Door
In this article, I will continue discussing the subject of my previous post and argue that being the living Christ is also to be the open door.
In my previous post, I said that being the living Christ means being one with the “I am” presence. However, the Christ consciousness is much larger than our individual spiritual being. As we progress on the spiritual path, we must extend our consciousness to our spiritual masters and the universal Christ consciousness.
The illusions of Being Separated
During our long journey on Earth, we became accustomed to viewing ourselves as separate “units” within a dualistic consciousness. Any processes occurring in our minds were considered to be our own thoughts and knowledge.
This has happened because we began to see ourselves as separate from others, believing that we would only connect with others if we chose to, as our “normal state” would be to have our own internal mind, which is exclusively ours and which no one else can enter, as it is a “private” space where we can safely hide from the world. ´
In this sense, we could keep ourselves in a state of “closed doors,” like Robinson Crusoe on a deserted island.
But, in reality, no one is a “closed door” because “separation” is an illusion of the mind that does not correspond to reality. Our minds are connected to all other parts of life, although we’ve created a self that believes it is separate from all other beings.
And as long as we identify with that self, we will experience ourselves as separate beings.
You may have doubts about what I am saying at this point, but think again. Your mind is open to a large number of influences from what you believe is outside of it.
These influences include the collective consciousness, other minds to which you subconsciously connect without realizing it, deliberate projections from hidden forces in this world that influence and manipulate you without your knowledge, and projections from your own subconscious.
From my own experience, I know how disturbing this can be. One of the main reasons we created an outer self was to experience security by creating a mental space where we believed we would not be threatened by the dangers of this world.
I myself felt this anguish when, 12 years ago, I began to stay under psychic attack from those hidden forces that , without me knowing «why», they chose me as a very much direct target.
Before I found the Ascended Master’s teachings and began studying under the Masters guidance, I found no ‘place of rest’ because they attacked me in my consciousness, the ‘place’ exactly where I should- so I thought at the time- feel secure because it was ‘my private security place.
Today I know that there is no ‘in’ and ‘out’ when it comes to consciousness and the connection between all beings, all parts of life. We can believe that we «are alone» or that our identity has no connection to other beings’ identity, but this is just an illusion.
For those who have chosen to believe in a separate identity, however, maintaining the illusion is not worth the effort. Life is a complex web, and everything is interconnected.
All Life is One
For a long time, many of us believed that we would fare better in this world if we looked after our own interests and possessions and maintained the mental barriers that separate us
We thought it would be safer and better to keep our distance. But you see, we were identified with our temporary material bodies and forgot that even the ‘material things’ are made from consciousness so, it doesn’t pay off to keep these illusions about ourselves and the world at large or other beings.
We are all made of the same substance as the Creator, although as self-aware beings, we have also unique identities that we will keep forever.
We can choose to pretend that we are separate from other parts of life, but we have learned that when we harm other beings, those actions are reflected back to us through the “cosmic mirror” or universal karma. This is designed to help us learn that when we harm other parts of life, we are harming ourselves too.
For all these reasons, it seems wise to acknowledge that we no longer have any real advantage—we never did, but we didn’t know it yet—to maintain the illusion of separation. The only consistent choice is to transcend the self that perpetuates the illusion of separation.
Discover the maxim, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Over 2,000 years ago, Master Jesus gave us a simple, practical rule to guide our actions: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, no matter what they do unto you.
Practicing this rule allows us to experience oneness with all people because it helps us recognize our shared basic humanity. This maxim is an excellent way to begin the “path of oneness” taught by Master Jesus, which has inspired us ever since.
The more people who follow this maxim, the closer we will be to achieving unity, cooperation, and peace.
What Does it Mean to be the Open Door
In this context of feeling united as human beings, we expand our sphere of union with all parts of life because this “external” process is accompanied by an internal transformation of our sense of identity.
This transformation fosters spiritual growth, opening us to receive light from the spiritual plane, our I Am Presence, and the Ascended Masters.
The separation between ‘mine’ and ‘yours’ fades away because on the plane of consciousness, the best of what we can express comes from outside the outer identity, from outside the linear mind, from outside the closed circle of the ego’s mental box.
Our consciousness, when receptive to the spirit, is a ‘chalice’ for receiving ideas and all types of information that can improve our lives, in some practical or theoretical area of knowledge.
No matter how much the ego’s fatuity leads us to believe that the linear intelligence creates and invents in this world, let us have no illusions: The mind created on Earth only reacts; it does not create anything.
It often appropriates ideas that are recognized as “inspired,” but this self neither admits nor realizes that they are not created by it. Rather, they “come from above,” from the Masters who have always inspired us in creating everything that improves our lives. On the etheric plane, they make available those ideas and innovations that, on Earth, people with specialized training in related areas bring to manifestation.
I remember feeling particularly inspired many years ago when I was teaching a philosophy class or writing about related topics. I took pride in the connections and conclusions I was able to draw.
What I didn’t know then, but know now, is that all this “inspiration” didn’t come from my linear mind. It came from the “one mind of the universal Christ,” which contains all the wisdom that can exist and manifest itself in this world. I was simply very receptive and interested in receiving it.
My focus and interest in these subjects, coupled with my specialized training, allowed me to access a greater wisdom that my limited, linear mind could never have captured alone.
This is an example of what it means to “be the open door” on Earth: opening ourselves to receive something greater than our own mind with the certainty that it comes from the reservoir of universal truth, the Christ Mind. This reservoir provides any and all truth beyond the illusory plane of separation.
Allowing the Christ Mind, our I Am Presence, and the Ascended Masters to speak through us is also being the living Christ on Earth. Being the living Christ is to be the open door.
