Going Beyond the Words to the Experience of Wisdom

human knowledge

In this post I am going to write about going beyond words to the experience of wisdom and why there isn’t an absolute truth on Earth. This is a theme related to the quality of the 2nd ray, Wisdom.

The Dream of an Absolute Immutable Truth on Earth

The desire for absolute truth comes from the ego, whose survival strategy consists of being able to predict ‘what might happen’, and the possession of a set of ‘truths’ and definitions that give it a stable and reliable view of the world.

It is a desire that comes from insecurity and a feeling of vulnerability, and from the fact that the ego has its identity based on the desire to replace the original spiritual identity, through the aspiration of becoming immortal.

The ego was born as a temporary reality but aspires to survive through self-improvement hoping to become worthy of immortalizing itself. However, the ego knows that it can die, so it wants to ensure its survival and to do so, it arms itself in every way to ensure that it will not die – and uses fear to stay safe.

That’s why it builds a network of concepts and definitions, which create the illusion of being in possession of absolute knowledge, of which today’s materialism is the strongest example.

And convinces itself that the linear mind, developed in the interaction with the world of form can understand the laws of nature and predict «what will happen» with certainty and truth- in what it calls «knowledge of the laws of nature».

However, science itself has been developing a new mentally in the last decades, acknowledging that doesn’t deal with absolute truths and the so-called «laws of science» are, in fact, relative knowledge, subject to be replaced by a better knowledge, a better understanding of how the world works.

The traditional mystic teachings also have dreamed, for millennia, of an ultimate state of growth, the so called «enlightenment», that supposedly would be the last level of growth possible in the spiritual path.

This dream of enlightenment also must be transcended, not because there is no   enlightenment – what it is not true- but because this is not the ultimate state of consciousness from which would not be any further growth.

At any point of the spiritual path, we can transcend ourselves and become more than we were before. For instance, Master Gautama attained enlightenment when attained nirvana, but this wasn’t the last level of growth He had on Earth, since He returned to Earth to give His teachings [1]  and lived on Earth for a while after this. And continued to grow spiritually after that.

There is no final stage for the spiritual path or the spiritual growth, the Masters of Mankind are not sitting still on the spiritual realm on a fixed state, they too keep growing.  Earth and other worlds of form are just the first stage of spiritual growth. The creator itself keeps growing and transcending itself through us.

We must let go of this images of the ultimate truth or ultimate enlightenment and go beyond this mind and words to the experience of wisdom.

The Limitations of the Written Word

In the traditional history of Earth, the «written word» is considered an important milestone and why? Because the written words fixate the past in a narrative of «how all happened». By this it allows us to know more about how people from the past lived, thought, etc.

And although this is an advantage, we have a curiosity to know how human beings lived for many years, centuries or even millennia before us, and even see some similarity between their ways of thinking and living and ours today, their feelings, hopes or misery, because we recognize in them the humanity that is our own.

But words come from the external self, the linear mind that sees a distance between itself and the objects it is trying to «understand». And here is the problem:

  1. In first place, the use of words implies a distance between the subject and the thing or being that is the object of its attention.
  2. Secondly, the interpretation that is made by the subject is dependent on the level of consciousness of the subject, and different subjects can describe the same object in very different manners.
  3. This gave birth to the need to set standards about all things in words, it means, the creation of concepts, each one being a definition of something that is described.

At a certain point, it was necessary to establish logical rules to make sure that a certain description is «objective» because it is logically correct. So, philosophers in the western world, like Parmenides and Aristotle- this last one was the one that systematized western logic- defined that there are 2 -and only 2- values of truth: true and false.

All this process reduced the possibilities of seeing the world where we live, from many different perspectives because -it is argued- it is necessary to make sure that people, when they talk, (or write) are thinking and saying the «same things».

This has been taken in Western culture to such an extreme that people have come to consider that it is the concepts – created by logic – that are important, and that the direct experience of reality is of no importance at all.

This is the control of the Ego, that has taken over our mind and experience of ourselves and the world. And we must transcend this, if we are going to grow in the spiritual perspective.  This is the «knowledge» of the duality consciousness, but it is not wisdom. We need to go beyond words to the experience of wisdom.

Wisdom is an Experience and Has no Opposite and no contradictions

Let’s look to the words of Master Lanto, Chohan of the 2nd Ray: « I do not want students who take a worded description and use it to close their minds to the experience. I want you to take the description and use it as a stepping stone for opening your mind to the direct experience. »[2]

The reader can argue, with the linear mind, that Master Lanto and other Masters are giving teachings by using words. It is true and that’s why the Masters tell us that every student can use the teachings either to go beyond the words to an experience using the Christ mind to grow in awareness, or they can use them even to try to prove any relative «truth» of the ego.

The words are given to us as a first step, because all of us have, for a very long time, used our linear analytical minds to «understand» and for a period of our spiritual growth, we have the need to begin by using this mind, at least until the 96th level of consciousness.

We must use teachings that we can deal with in our present level of mind, the Masters are not giving teachings to human beings at the 144th level of consciousness. They would not succeed in helping us, without using the tools that can be used by us right now.

And we need to accept that any teaching, even coming from the ascended Masters, is «(…) only a description, and it has value only if you use it to open your mind to a direct experience of the spirit behind the words».[3]

The study of the teachings and giving decrees and invocations is not an end in itself, but it are the means by which we gain mental openness beyond words and the logical reasoning of concepts to the experience of internally feeling the reality beyond those words.

When this openness happens, we become one with the Master who says this words, and with our I am Presence. And this is an experience of the Christ Mind, that gives us discernment from the one mind, beyond the «understanding» of the external dualistic mind. This is how we go beyond words to the experience of wisdom.
