Knowing the Seven Rays-7th Ray-We Are Who We Think We Are
In this Post I am addressing the meaning of «death» of our sense of self when we entered in the duality consciousness, Freedom, and the meaning of «we are who we think we are».
In his book, Master Keys to Spiritual Freedom[1], Lord Maitreya says: « The parameters are clear and undeniable. God – or rather the spiritual teacher – tells Adam that if he eats of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, he will “surely” die (Genesis 2:17)»
But who is the «you» that will die? Many followers of the Bible have questioned themselves if God lied to Adam and Eve, in the garden of Eden because the same Bible tells us that they were expelled from the garden and had a hard life after that.
So, what died was, not Adam and Eve, has «beings» with existence, what died was their «sense of self», the sense they had until the fall, the sense of «who they thought they were».
Adam and Eve are archetypes of what happened to many human beings, when they experimented with the duality consciousness.
The Experiment of Duality Consciousness is an Initiation of Freedom
In the book I quoted, Lord Maitreya states: « If students did not have the option to go against the laws of God, they would not have the fullness of free will.»
If we couldn’t choose differently from the laws defined by the Creator, we would be mere programmed robots and, in that case, we wouldn’t have been created at the image of the Creator, with the same potential of becoming, ourselves, creators with imagination and free will, like the Creator itself.
But when we experiment with free will without having a certain level of Christ Consciousness, as Lord Maitreya reports that happened to several life streams in the spiritual school room of the garden of Eden, we can get trapped in our own experiment and not notice that.
In that environment of the «garden of Eden» that existed in the etheric plane of Earth, not in the physical, we are told that some decided to turn their backs to the Master and experiment with duality consciousness by their own.
Free will is the first basic principle for self-aware beings, and the Master had to respect their choice.
But , what happened was, like Mother Mary explains in her book Expressing you Love for Life[2]«you will gradually become more and more enveloped in the consciousness of duality, but the transition is so gradually that you don’t notice it».
These words need an appointment of explanation: as I wrote, the experiment with duality consciousness is necessary, it is an initiation of freedom because we can only «know« that we are free beings, if we can go against what the representants of the Creator tell us that «we can and cannot do.
But this is an experience where we can get lost in this type of consciousness and that’s why we all have the guidance of Master Maitreya, to succeed in passing the initiation.
The beings that failed this initiation didn’t want that guidance because, gradually, they became attached to the separate identity and wanted to keep it. When they experimented with this type of consciousness, they haven’t developed the level of Christ consciousness that would have allow them to see the illusions of duality.
So, they took the words of Lord Maitreya in the garden, «if you eat the forbidden fruit (the duality consciousness) you surely die» as a lie, as expressed by the serpent in the garden, when told Adam and Eve that they would not die.
Yes, they continued to have a sense of existence, but their sense of being spiritual beings did, effectively die. And what this «death» means, is that they no longer saw themselves as immortal spiritual beings but now, they saw themselves as just mere mortal beings.
The Meaning of Death of the Sense of Identity
In the book I’ve quoted, Mother Mary says clearly that, wen we enter in the duality consciousness, the former self literally dies ,and a new sense of self- that sees itself as a mortal being- is born.
But She also says that we can return to our true self and spiritual sense of identity. Therefore, the death of the sense of self is not a definitive state.
Human beings on Earth have long been accustomed to believing that the world in which they live is solid and impossible to change and, therefore, death is an irreversible state – what has died cannot be resurrected, at least while they live on Earth.
Therefore, they tend to take the Masters words about the «death of our sense of identity» as a final and static state that can’t be changed while they are still in this world.
But this is not the case. The self that identifies with the mortal self, in the duality consciousness, is the conscious you, the pure awareness and localized awareness of the I am Presence. And the conscious you never loses its freedom, and the ability to see beyond the illusions of the mortal self.
The conscious you Is also, as the Masters have been teaching us, the Christ consciousness in us. It can become dormant and not willing to take responsibility when accepting the sense of identity coming from the duality consciousness, but can’t do it forever.
The conscious you never lose its freedom and can, at any moment, jump outside of the sense of self created on Earth and decide to identify again with the I am presence, by recognizing that it, is indeed, the Presence.
Freedom is What Allows the Transformation of our Sense of Self
We can see that freedom is what makes it possible for self-conscious beings to choose a sense of identity opposite to that designed by the creator. but we can also realize that it is also freedom that allows us to make different choices and reverse previously made decisions, that we recognize are not the best and that we no longer want.
It is because we are free beings that our sense of self is not static or definitive. We, self-aware beings, are always in project, open to some new sense of identity we can see at a certain moment.
And there are no predefined rules that can tell us what sense of identity is «better» for us, but the Christ consciousness. The Christ consciousness is focused on the All of life and sees at any moment what is best for the All of life.
We can choose freely «who» we want to be but, to create a sense of identity that is sustainable for us and the rest of life, we must pass the initiation of the duality consciousness, to see the illusions it is based on, so we can keep growing with life as a whole.
The duality -consciousness can only de-create, as we can see in our world, planet Earth, with all the afflicting problems and suffering we face every day, making our lives a complete struggle.
Master St Germain, the Chohan of the 7th ray, is also a cheerful Master, reminding us that we are «artists of life«, and can co-create a beautiful harmonious world to live together and without struggle.
The choice is ours, transcend the duality- consciousness, by transforming and change our sense of self, letting die the dualistic -self, and let a new self, be reborn that can awake our joy for experimenting with life.
