Love and Purity

mystic love and purity

In this post, I am writing about the 3rd ray’s quality of Love in connection to the 4th ray of purity. I am following the teachings of Master Paul the Venetian in His book, The Mystic Initiations of Love[1]

The Ray of Purity uses the Light of Christ to Make Visible what we Couldn’t see.

The 4th ray is called the ray of purity because when we are under it, we can no longer hide anything because it makes us see. The light of Christ fills our consciousness and reveals everything that was hidden, intentionally or not, and is therefore also called “vision”, the “vision of Christ“.

This means that when it hits us, we cannot lie or hide, all veils are removed and what was not visible appears in full light, both to us and to others who are under its influence.

Because it gives us the power of ‘vision’, of sudden understanding of the ‘truth of Christ’, the 4th ray is also considered to be the ray of acceleration, because it is understood that after experiencing the ‘truth of Christ’ we are not the same and we have transcended the state of consciousness in which we found ourselves.

However, the masters warn us that the experience that allows us to see our ‘impurities’ is for most people a difficult experience.

This happens because we are overwhelmed when we discover the number of ‘impure’ energies in our material bodies (etheric, mental and emotional) and because of the weight of the collective consciousness on Earth, in which fallen beings have continually projected the idea that ‘we are sinners’ and that all the evil we have done in the past can never be redeemed.

There is a deliberate manipulation on the part of these beings, which we will explain below.

The Self That Can’t Be Purified and the Way out of IT

Many students who are genuinely committed to the spiritual path have fallen into the illusion that they need to “make up” for the “evil” they have committed in the past, that they need to “purify” themselves of all the bad consciences they have had, the actions they have committed, and so on.

But first you have to ask yourself ‘who’ feels that they have to do all this. Because, as the Masters teach us, our spiritual identity, the conscious you as the Masters call it, is pure consciousness of the I am Presence, and nothing has to compensate for the self that did the actions or thoughts, that feels guilt or shame, it was an outer- self, created on earth, it was not the spiritual identity.

It is true that it was the conscious you that created this outer self and allowed it to take over your life.

But it is also true that Earth is a learning environment in which beings are experimenting with freedom to gradually increase their sphere of consciousness and, as the Masters teach us, on Earth there is nothing of an absolute nature, there is no choice or decision that cannot be replaced by a new choice and decision.

For all these reasons, ‘God does not see our sins’ when we are in this learning environment. it was the fallen beings, who rebelled against God a long time ago, who instilled in the collective consciousness the idea of a sinful humanity and a punitive and punishing God.

Therefore, humanity must have an experience of unconditional love to understand all this, which is why the first rays, as Master Paul the Venetian explains, are preparatory to the initiations of the 4th ray of purification.

And the first thing we have to realize is that we are not the outer self with which spiritual identity has long been identified: the ‘you’ who did the unclean thing is not the ‘conscious you’. It is an unreal ‘you’ created in the soul vehicle in the form of an inner spirit. This ‘you’ can never be purified. You can never feel pure as long as you are looking at life from inside that spirit.». [2]

Here it becomes clear that in order to overcome the self that is constantly judging itself and others and feeling guilty, we need to look at ourselves ‘from outside’ this self. This self cannot see anything other than guilt and the need to judge itself. And we do this by connecting love and purity.

Every self that is created from a belief and a choice that we make works like a ‘mini application’ that always runs the same program, it has no power to adapt or transform. It is the conscious you that has the ability to step outside of this self, to stop identifying with it, to become aware of its unreality from the outside.

Such selves, influenced by the consciousness of the separate mind, do not allow us to ever free ourselves from the cycle of incarnations, as the intrusion of these selves into the 3 subtle material bodies corresponds to impure energies from which we must free ourselves if we want to leave the cycle of incarnations, or the wheel of samsara.

As Master Jesus repeatedly said, “Only the man who has descended from heaven can ascend”. And that ‘man’ is the conscious you, or the spiritual identity. When we are ready to leave the earth, neither the identity or the etheric body, nor the mental body, nor the emotional body, which make up the ‘soul’ in the traditional name, will accompany the conscious you, which is the only one that can return from where it came, to the I am Presence.

So, being clearly aware of this, how can we achieve ‘purification’?

Master Paul is clear in this regard when he tells us that the conscious you must leave its identification with the outer self in order to experience unconditional love, connecting love and purity.

No self that makes up the conglomerate of selves of the ego can experience unconditional love because they are all created from the acceptance that there are conditions that all earthly beings must respect to deserve this or that, including love, be it divine or human.

So the first step is to have a real experience of the conscious you through the Christ Mind. And although Master Jesus stated the possibility of having such an experience (of the Christ Mind) at any level of consciousness, even at levels below the 48th, it is more likely when the person is close to the 96th level of consciousness.

Before we reach this level of consciousness, contact with the ‘Conscious You’ may occur during fleeting moments and then disappear.

However, after the successful initiation of the 2nd Challenge of Christ, the connection with the Conscious You gradually becomes continuous and is felt as a continuous flow of unconditional love and pure peace.

The most reliable way to know when this connection exists is this continuous state of being filled with the unconditional love that comes from the I am Presence.

Until that moment arrives, the procedure to free ourselves from the self that judges and feels guilty is simple: « First, you must see the impurity. Then you must be willing to go into it and look at the illusion that caused you to respond with a fear-based reaction. Once you see that illusion and dissolve it, you are free from the matrix».[3]

Firstly, we need to be aware that the self that sees the ‘impurity’ is the outer self, because the spiritual self does not make value judgements about the outer world: “(…) the conscious you, does not react when it knows that it is pure awareness (…)”.

The conscious you can, however, identify with the self that is reacting and momentarily lose awareness that it is the outer self and not itself  that is reacting to the world.  Our job as spiritual students is to look inward and recognize when we are letting the outer- self, control the way we see the world.

The conscious you is the pure awareness of the I am presence located in the world of form. And is the only one who can let go of the outer self and all illusions. The outer self cannot be purified or saved. It has to die so that our spiritual identity, the one that is real, can be free of the earth.

For this to happen, it is also necessary that we forgive everything and ourselves for all the illusions we have accepted in the past, all other beings and then forget everything that the outer self has done in the past.

In Master Paul the Venetian’s words: «The challenge of purity, the challenge of the Fourth Ray, is not simply a matter of changing your attitude, behaviour or beliefs or of purifying energies. It is a matter of purifying your mind entirely of even the memory. Forgiveness is important, but forgiveness is not complete until you have forgotten the wrong». [4]
