The Initiations of the 2nd Challenge of Christ
In this article I am writing about the 2nd challenge of Christ initiation and give my own experience .
Why do We Have to Face Initiations
Earth is a schoolroom and, like in any educational environment, we are evaluated. Using the analogy of the educational process, where we graduate from different levels and, at the end of each one, submit to an exam, it is similar with the spiritual path.
I recognize that it is a bit scaring for many people, me included when I first started, to be evaluated through initiations but there are reasons for that. In academic education, we have, at the end of a cycle, an exam we need to pass, before going to a higher level of studies, and It is the same in the spiritual path- the initiation is a milestone that indicates that we graduated from a lower level and are now ready to go to a higher level.
Graduation from Earth, as human beings, is maybe, the hardest level to surpass before we become the spiritual beings we are destined to be, from the beginning. It is even harder for those living in such an unspiritual planet like earth.
And it is more difficult on Earth because the collective Humankind chose to go into the separate mind, almost every human being sees himself as only «human», as the fruit of a biological evolution and nothing else.
This strong identification with the physical being makes it very hard to pass the highest initiations that can allow every human being to graduate from this first stage as «human beings», and jump to a different level of growth in the Spiritual realm.
This identification as mortal beings is an hindrance for many people in the stages of the path where we need to identify ourselves with our spiritual identity: many people confuse the outer self, educated in spiritual matters, with their real identity.
But it is not, this is a self created by the «Ego» in the mater realm. And when there is a strong identification with this self that «appears» to be the «spiritual self», people can be trapped for many lifetimes.
The initiations are useful because, when we know that they exist, this also helps us to know in advance that there are some lessons that we must learn, to graduate from a certain level.
The Important Initiation of the 2nd Challenge of Christ
We can say that these initiations present some challenges, or enigmas, that we need to solve. And in all of them, the initiation of the 2nd challenge of Christ is, from my experience, the most important, because if we don’t pass it, our growth stops, and we can initiate a «downward spiral». We can say that the first beings «fell», because they didn’t pass this initiation.
The 2nd challenge of Christ deals with the attachment to the ego, and the recognition, coming from that «educated self», of its own attainment. This self contemplates what can do and feels superior to the point that believes it knows better than God, or the masters, imposing its own view of reality as superior to the one of God and the Masters.
The Self that we Need do Let go
This is the self that began developing when the human being stops identifying with the collective consciousness and creates an individual sense of self. And keeps growing from one degree to the other until the 96th degree of consciousness.
Note that to pass from one degree to the other, we open to the Christ consciousness of that level but also use our mental mind associated with the mortal identity, that is our main «mind» at this intermediate stages. And the Ego exerts a strong impact on us, is much stronger than our spiritual identity at this point.
Moreover, this self strongly individualized can «refine» itself, using even the Ascended Master Teachings to «educate» itself and try to pass for the «spiritual self», or the «conscious you», because it wants to survive and become immortal.
And because it can «pass» for the real spiritual self, in our individual minds, the 2nd challenge of Christ is a very difficult initiation to pass.
Master Jesus and Master Maitreya are the initiators here. And I can tell you that you only pass this initiation if the conscious you assume the responsibility to command your life and jump out of the Ego, overriding the mortal self.
The 2nd challenge
This initiation tests if we recognize the unreality of this self and renounce to its view of our identity based on the ego, and accept our true identity as the conscious you that has, in us, the role of the Christ consciousness. And we are facing this challenge in several parts of our growth, in the higher degrees close to the 96th degree.
We will not growth further, if we don’t pass this initiation.
This challenge also demands us to recognize that we are more then just human mortal beings, and that we are connected to all life through the Christ Mind.
My Initiations of the 2nd Challenge of Christ
I remember two moments when I was faced with this initiation, the first one conducted by Master Maitreya, to test if I would recognize that I don’t know better than my Ascended teachers. No matter how smart and knowledgeable we think we are, from the definitions of the ego and the forces of this world, we have not ascended and so, we never know better than our Masters.
The second time I did face this initiation, it was conducted by Master Jesus, and it was more challenging for me, because it was a «practical test». It has been Master Jesus who have tested me with the most difficult initiations until now, but at the same time, He gave me everything I needed to pass them.
Master Jesus presented me a challenge that was seen by the ego as a total Master’s rejection of me.
To help you understand, let me remember that the self connected to the mortal identity works through the linear mind, that creates a distance between the self and any kind of object.
This structure of the linear mind makes us always project to outside what, in reality, is created by the ego itself. It puts the «causes» to explain everything, in the outside of itself. This is a very important thing to remember about this initiation.
In this initiation, Master Jesus said some words that were perceived as very harsh and «unjust» when seen by the mortal self, the ego. And the challenge was, for me, to recognize that Master Jesus was not talking to me, as a spiritual being, the conscious you, he was talking to the ego, the unreal identity . I should see this and accept that the spiritual self is my real self.
My first reaction to the words of the Master was that I couldn’t stop crying, feeling rejected by my Master, feeling «I am doing everything I can to show the master that I am worthy but the master doesn’t love me, and is rejecting me. »
After a while, I suddenly opened myself to the Christ mind and recognized: «My God, it is not true that Master Jesus doesn’t’ love me, He loves me, it is not me that is feeling rejected, it is this self that I didn’t want to let go, that made me feel this. But I am not this self! And I felt peace»
If I hadn’t shift my focal point from the outer self to my real self, the «conscious you» ,I would have failed this initiation.
I passed, because my «conscious you» assumed entirely its spiritual nature . And at this moment, the demise of the human ego truly began.
I also understood how I fell, back then, in the 6th sphere, where this «wound of having been rejected by the Master» had been very deep: I don’t know much about the being I was, but I know that I felt rejected by the Master, without understanding that this was an illusion created by the Ego and was not real. But I couldn’t see this back then, and so I fell.
